Rite of Confession

CONFESSION

Before going to Confession, sit in a quiet place. Ask God to bless you and help you see your sins. Examine your conscience.

Say: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Say: It is .......................since my last confession.

Say: your sins.

Listen: to the priest.

Remember: your penance.

Say: O my God, I thank you for loving me, I am sorry for all my sins, for not loving others and not loving you. Help me to live like Jesus and not sin again. Amen. (or a different act of contrition)

Listen: ............and I absolve you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Say: Amen.

Say: Thank you Father.

When you leave, remember to do your Penance; to thank God for his mercy and loving forgiveness; and to ask God to bless the priest and help him in his work.
