"I have come that they may have life and have it to the full" John 10:10
DIOCESE OF HALLAM: THE PROTECTION AND CARE OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
POLICY STATEMENT
Abuse of any kind frustrates the possibility of living life to the full and when it takes place within the Church damages the very mission and being of the Church.
Our Church is a community of love, which witnesses to the love of God, will aim to:
Safeguard all members of the Church community of all ages.
- Safeguard all members of the Church community of all ages.
- Value and protect the most vulnerable, especially children and young people.
- Prevent neglect and the physical, sexual or emotional abuse of children and young people.
- Offer appropriate care to all affected by the abuse of children and young people.
St. William of York endorses the policy statement and will endeavour to protect and safeguard all children and young people who enter our parish community.
In line with the Diocesan guidelines we have appointed two "designated persons" who are responsible for those working (whether in a paid or voluntary capacity) with children and young people. They provide support and encouragement within the parish and liase with the Diocesan authorities in the implementation and application of the Guidelines.
The Designated Persons are Celia Yeardley and Margaret Reynolds who can be contacted via the Parish Priest
