Hallam Ascent Group
The Hallam Ascent Group was formed in Summer 2003 and, although based on St Francis Parish, Sandygate, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England is open to all in and around the Diocese of Hallam; although our aim is to encourage more parishes or deaneries to host their own group.
The ASCENT Movement is an international movement within the Catholic Church and is aimed at those in the second half of life i.e. those over 50, retired or preparing to retire, both men and women.
Each ASCENT group develops according to the interests within the 3 "prongs" of the movement - Friendship, Spirituality and Mission.
Hallam Ascent meets once a month, usually on the first Wednesday, for prayer time (Spirituality), a talk or discussion followed by tea (Friendship).
